Our top tips for Mount Macedon include:

  1. To sample local beers pop into Holgate Bewery in Woodend on the way to your accommodation. The pale ales are fantastic! 

  2. For your morning coffee and to pick up supplies, stroll down ot the Mount Macedon Trading Post 

  3. Explore the Mount Macedon Walking Trail, which includes the area’s top attractions including Mount Towrong, Sanatorium, LakeCamel’s Hump and Memorial Cross

  4. The infamous Hanging Rock is a must do and don’t forget to pack a picnic lunch that can be arranged through Daylesford Picnic Co

  5. Have lunch at the cellar door at Mount Towrong Vineyard - they serve Italian style wines and a delicious cellar door menu plus coffee and cakes 

  6. There are many more wineries in the region. These can be found via Macedon Ranges Wine Trail. After a day of exploring, sipping wine and hiking, our  Cabin on the Mount offers both a wood fire and a spa bath to restore and replenish.

  7. Visit local garden Forest Glade or Bolobek (open during open garden week in October)

  8. Japanese dinner at Kuzu in Woodend - the perfect experience after a day of forest bathing

  9. Visit Woodend General for homewares 

  10. Fox and Chamber Woodend do an excellent breakfast and lunch on the way home…
