If you ever need to get away from it all without sacrificing any of the finest hotel luxuries, then Rimba Retreat offers the perfect combination of nature and decadence. With magical views over Mount Macedon, log fire, open plan living, kitchen and dining and two bedrooms, each with an ensuite, Rimba is ideal for a romantic weekend or a forest bathing escape with friends. Spectacularly located in a private clearing within a forest and set high on a hill, the cabins provide panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and close by Mount Macedon’s major walking attractions, including Sanatorium Lake, Hanging Rock, Camel’s Hump and Mount Towrong.
The Space
Designed for any season, the cabin is very well insulated with a wood fire, and split system heating and cooling. The fully equipped kitchen is stocked with new appliances and plenty of crockery and cookware for the most ardent cook. The Flophouse team provides a welcome breakfast hamper so you can sleep in on your first morning and can assist with extra catering on request. There are also lots of excellent restaurant choices nearby, including Kuzu, Mount Monument, Mount Macedon Winery, Mount Towrong and hatted restaurants, Du Fermier and Midnight Starling.
In the bedrooms, the king-size beds are draped in hotel linens, and extra blankets are available for colder nights. The bedrooms, like the rest of the rooms in the cabin, enjoy mountain views. The ensuite bathrooms have walk-in showers and are stocked with Aspar body products for guest use, and the fluffy bathrobes make you feel like you are staying at a hotel away from home. You may never want to leave the comfort of the bedroom. With our later check-out times, you may enjoy an extra sleep-in.
Outside
A large deck provides a birds-eye view of the surrounding hilltops and an excellent spot to dine or enjoy a glass of wine with the sunset. A fire pit is stocked with wood to enjoy in winter and out of fire season. There are also three strategically positioned viewing platforms to enjoy on the property. Set off from the house for forest walks around the property, or take off on one of the many self-guided walking trails in the area. The Mount Macedon Loop Walk is approximately 20 kms.

Take the Calder FWY towards Bendigo
Take the Mt Macedon exit,
Make your way onto Mt Macedon Road
Follow signs to Mt Macedon Pass through Mt Macedon township (approximately 6.6km from the FWY exit)
Continue the ascent past the Mt Macedon peak turn off (approximately 10.5km from FWY exit)
Start descending down the northern side of Mt Macedon
Once you reach a sharp hairpin bend, you will note Falls Road on the right –turn sharply here
