Located on 185 acres of undulating farmland with the Campaspe River running through the property, and all just ten minutes from Kyneton.
The space
Fassway Farm remains a working sheep station and includes an orchard with heritage fruit trees, paddocks, gold rush era stone walls, scenic bushland and the Campaspe River flows through the property. There is an established vegetable garden and chicken coup that guests are welcome to collect from when in season.
The main house was designed for the owners in 2018 by Wolveridge Architects and offers an expansive floor plan with views of the surrounding countryside. The house has an open plan living, dining and kitchen arrangement, hydronic heating and a wood fire. Wood will be supplied for your stay.
The kitchen is equipped with all new appliances and plenty of crockery and cooking utensils suitable for most cooks. We provide a welcome breakfast hamper with local produce. Please let us know if you require extra catering. You may wish to arrange a gourmet box through Daylesford Gourmet. This can be waiting for you on arrival.
The main bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a stone bath, designed by Boyd Interiors. There are two additional bedrooms down the hallway with king beds that can be split into two singles on request and a shared bathroom, along with an additional lounge/work space.
The adjoining bluestone quarters were part of the original homestead and provide additional guest accommodation. Here, there is another king bed with an ensuite bathroom and a small lounge area. Please note this accommodation is available for an additional surcharge (per guest) if you are booking for more than six guests.
Please note, we offer the main house at a reduced rate for groups of up to six guests and exclude the bluestone guest wing. The guest wing can comfortably sleep up to four additional guests. Please let us know if you require a portacot.

Kyneton is located in the Macedon Ranges Shire which includes the lands of the Taungurung nation. As the traditional owners of the region, we respect and acknowledge the vital role of the local custodians of the area where Harpsichord House is located. Kyneton was part of the goldfields explosion in 1851 and later became a service town for the region. It has long been known for its hospitality to travellers.

“Sue & I fell in love with Harpsicord House the moment we arrived. It’s quirky elegance so very appealing, having the large outside deck with a resident dog added to our delight. The gardens, be they rambling, were sensational delighting us every morning. How welcoming was the breakfast, eggs, local jam, delicious sourdough, perfect.
We found the beds & pillows very comfortable ensuring a very restful night following busy days touring the area.
Our every need was catered for, beautiful shower & hand gels rather than the usual “motel” cleansers.
We highly recommend Harpsichord Cottage , we will certainly return to this property or another in the Flophouse Portfolio.”
Sue & Victoria
“Harpsichord house is divine; the photos only tell half the story, the surrounds make it so much more. This guesthouse opens onto a lovely garden, best described as an ‘English country’ I’d say, made complete with clucking hens and—during our stay—their newly hatched chicks. We stayed for two nights to celebrate my partner’s birthday, a long-planned romantic weekend; it couldn’t have been better, a perfect mix of style and relaxed country chic. Returning each day to this lovely space was a treat; enjoying a glass of wine or two by the fireplace; waking and having breakfast on the sunny deck overlooking the garden, it doesn’t get better! While there, we walked the Domino Trail to the Radio Springs pub (well worth a visit), ask Genevieve for details. The guesthouse is very well equipped, you’ll want for nothing. We will definitely stay again, a perfect place, the perfect host.”
