This recently renovated and expanded three-bedroom home features a historic weatherboard front and an architecturally designed contemporary addition, making it the best of both worlds.
The house skillfully blends modern open-plan kitchen and living spaces with comfortable and inviting bedrooms. The owner’s love of design shows with bold, clean lines, modern furniture and pops of colour. Floor-to-ceiling windows in the living space and master bedroom, along with bright, contemporary bathrooms make the space feel opulent. The thoughtful decor throughout the home makes the overall space restful and harmonious.
Beyond the beautiful aesthetic is a home away from home where all possible creature comforts have been thought of. Guests can luxuriate in hotel quality linen, read by the cosy wood-burning fire, cook in the expansive chef’s kitchen, enjoy a soak in the freestanding bath, or dine outdoors while enjoying the rear garden.
Bedrooms
The master bedroom has a queen bed and ensuite with a walk-in shower. There is a second queen bedroom and a third bedroom with two king-single beds. A second full bathroom has a bathtub, shower, vanity and a separate toilet.
Living
The large open-plan living room has garden views, a wood fire and a large TV with Netflix.
Kitchen/Dining
The well-equipped, modern kitchen is a generous size and wonderfully light space to work in. There is seating at the kitchen bench and a dining table that seats six.
Laundry
Full laundry with a washer and dryer to make longer stays easier.
Garden
The well-designed back garden features outdoor seating for six guests.
From 1851, Kyneton was part of the goldfields explosion, became a service town for the region, and has long been known for its hospitality. It has also become known for fine dining and artisan shopping in recent years. If you feel like adventuring beyond Kyneton, there are many walks to explore, wineries and European gardens. We respect and acknowledge the vital role of the Taungurung people, who are local custodians of the area where Botanical Cottage is located. Botanical Cottage is within walking distance of some of Regional Victoria’s finest dining and cafe venues, boutiques and galleries. The seasonal beauty of the Campaspe River Walk is only minutes away.
Kyneton is part of Mount Macedon Shire, which sits over the lands of the Wurundjeri, Tangurung and Dja Dja Wurrung nations. As the traditional owners of the region, we respect and acknowledge the vital role of the local custodians of the region where Botanical House is located.

We stayed at Botanica House for over a month while waiting for a house contract to settle.
It is a beautifully clean, warm and light house. The three bedrooms have comfortable beds with lovely linen.
It is a fine walk to the botanical gardens then down by the Campaspe river. It is so lovely we did this walk most days with our kelpie.
All the town shops are close by including supermarket and take aways. So are the lovely retail outlets of Piper St.
The weekly cleaning has been impeccable. The kitchen is fully equipped. We appreciated the hydronic heating as we stayed in winter. There is a good fireplace with plenty of firewood.
We were able to have our kelpie stay as the yard is secure.
There can be a bit of noise from the street at night and the gutters outside in the street are a bit ferocious; we got used to both these things.
