Our stay at the Welsh Church in Maldon was a delightful experience from go to whoa. Beautifully situated on a hill a very short walk to the centre of this lovely town, this is a church renovation that really works well, with a beautiful open plan living/dining space, two very comfortable bedrooms and a super modern bathroom, all surrounded by a fenced garden with charming places to sit and enjoy the amazing bush surrounds. Genevieve is a very thoughtful host who includes lots of welcoming touches to the house, and our stay was all too short. Many thanks for a very special country retreat!
— Dermot, The Welsh Church, Maldon, April 2019
Loved our stay, would stay again!
— Jessica, Lauriston Park, Lauriston. April 2019
“This is a lovely house and a wonderful place to get away from the city. Loved the stylish touches and the cosy feeling of the house. It’s a perfect place for cold nights with the fireplaces and cosy vibe. The welcome hamper was actually incredibly great and thoughtful. Would really recommend! Thanks so much for having us - lovely hosts!”
— Emily, Ellerslie Cottage, Barfold, April 2019
“Our second trip to the Domino House and we plan to keep coming back. Its in the best location with everything you could need, it is styled beautifully, with gorgeous touches (breakfast, dreamy linen and bathroom products). Feeling very relaxed after a weekend of (too much) eating, drinking and reading by the fire. Thank you!”
— Stephanie, Domino House, Trentham, March 2019
Thank you so much Genevieve, Your place was absolutely gorgeous - even better than we imagined! We had such a relaxing stay and the little touches were amazing! We’ll be back.
— Maree and Peter, the Welsh Church, Maldon, March 2019
A great place, very well presented and was as described in the posting. An awesome location for a stay in Kyneton- you won’t need to the car to explore all the delights this town has to offer.
— Lawrence, Wormwood House, Kyneton, 2019
Sue & I fell in love with Harpsicord Cottage the moment we arrived. It’s quirky elegance so very appealing, having the large outside deck with a resident dog added to our delight. The gardens, be they rambling, were sensational delighting us every morning. How welcoming was the breakfast, eggs, local jam, delicious sourdough, perfect.
We found the beds & pillows very comfortable ensuring a very restful night following busy days touring the area.
Our every need was catered for, beautiful shower & hand gels rather than the usual “ motel” cleansers.

We highly recommend Harpsichord Cottage , we will certainly return to this property or another in the Flophouse Portfolio.

Thank you Genevieve for anticipating our every need.
— Sue and Victoria, Harpsichord House, Kyneton, December 2018
“An unbelievably beautiful stay. Such a gorgeous house, we loved our stay. Central location, fantastic amenities, comfortable beds. We will definitely be back.”
— Narah, the Manse on Ebden, Kyneton, November 2018
“Thankyou Genevieve, Wormwood House was an absolute delight. So cosy, and fantastic location. Comfiest beds, a shower that has amazing water pressure! Our girls loved the bath. The unexpected details you’ve captured so well, locally sourced produce and capped off with a complimentary G&T at Animus. We loved our stay, and getting to and from Kyneton Music Festival was a breeze. I dare say we will be back, with or without the husbands lol. Thank you so much again!”
— Lauren, Wormwood House, Kyneton, October 2018
“Thank you Genevieve for all your effort and care in making our stay at the Manse on Ebden so special. The beautiful gourmet provisions and breakfast hamper were a lovely surprise and added to what was already a beautiful place to stay. We were visiting for a special occasion and Flop House and The Manse on Ebden provided a magical stay! “

Thank you so much again,
— Kate Poel, The Manse, Kyneton, September 2018
A great cosy little cottage. It had everything we needed and is dog friendly which is a huge plus for us. Comfy bed with beautiful bed linen. Lovely organic bathroom products and delicious produce for breakky. Walking distance to everything you could want in Piper Street and easy access to the river to walk the dogs. Highly recommend a stay and this great space!
— Lisa, Bird House, Kyneton, September 2018
We loved our stay, the house was perfect especially considering the weather we were cosy in front of the open fire.

The house was well equipped, close to Pipers Street and in excellent condition.

We will definitely use Flop Houses again and if the Mitchell Street house stays with you would definitely recommend it to others as well as staying there ourselves.

My partner Nikki runs a social media company and fashion / lifestyle blog and has posted pictures to her Instagram accounts so hopefully that drives you more business.
— Gerard Kelly, Kings and Knaves Espresso, Wormwood House, Kyneton, September 2018
Hi Genevieve

Our stay was too brief!

You accommodation was so lovely.

We loved the sheets

Loved the flowers

We loved the bread and butter and eggs and jelly and milk

We loved having WIFI though just used for emails etc
— Susan, Wormwood House, September 2018
Thanks for having us. We had a lovely stay. The property was great 👍
Warm and beautiful!
Only improvement I can think of is an email earlier to confirm booking and let us know what was included? Ie. Linen, towels, breakfast 👍
Might just be the control freak in me but yeah...I would have liked that info earlier x
— Mikaela, Lauriston Park, August 2018
The Lauriston House is a picturesque, elegant and peaceful abode. Our entire family enjoyed the olive grove surroundings, nearby kangaroos and quiet walks. The comfortable beds, sofas, fireplaces and spa outside with a view were an added bonus. I would highly recommend this property as a perfect getaway from the city. It is only a quick drive from the main street of Kyneton but has the privacy of being remote. The host Genevieve was very prompt with her communication as well. We look forward to returning to the Lauriston House.
— Kerryn, East Wing, Lauriston, August 2018
“Great stay and really appreciated the small touches. Bread, butter, apples, milk and even a beautiful boutique jam & granola. #superstay”
— Deon, Bird House, Kyneton, August. 2018
The house was so cosy and comfortable and well located within Trentham and the wider area. It was very cold the afternoon we arrived, but the heaters had all been turned on in advance so the house felt warm and welcoming. The breakfast hamper was wonderful and for additional items it was only a very short walk to the fantastic red beard bakery, the IGA and a selection of restaurants and cafes. A highlight of our stay was walking with the llamas (Hanging Rock Llamas) .
— Jo, Domino House, August 2018
“This house was beautiful! So spacious and the flair in the decoration was great! From the complimentary food down to the wood for the fire, I felt truly spoilt for my stay. Highly recommend”
— Jessica, Domino House, June 2018
We had such a fantastic time in Kyneton. The house was cosy, beautiful and made a perfect base for the weekend. Your taste seems very much like ours, so it felt like a home away from home!

We especially wanted to thank you for your assistance with the last minute dinner bookings. Both nights were fantastic, particularly Source which I think was one of our favourite meals in some time. We will definitely be back to try their lunch degustation! Was lovely having a couple of drinks at the distillery as well.

Thanks again and we hope to stay with you again soon!
— Dan + Marieke, Bird House, Kyneton, May 2018
Harpsichord house is divine; the photos only tell half the story, the surrounds make it so much more. This guesthouse opens onto a lovely garden, best described as an ‘English country’ I’d say, made complete with clucking hens and—during our stay—their newly hatched chicks. We stayed for two nights to celebrate my partner’s birthday, a long-planned romantic weekend; it couldn’t have been better, a perfect mix of style and relaxed country chic. Returning each day to this lovely space was a treat; enjoying a glass of wine or two by the fireplace; waking and having breakfast on the sunny deck overlooking the garden, it doesn’t get better! While there, we walked the Domino Trail to the Radio Springs pub (well worth a visit), ask Genevieve for details. The guesthouse is very well equipped, you’ll want for nothing. We will definitely stay again, a perfect place, the perfect host. Thank you Genevieve! xx
— Joel & Joëlle, Harpsichord House, Kyneton, April, 2018
“First and foremost the house is beautiful both inside and out. We had a.small crew shooting in Kyneton and Genevieve was on hand to help with all our needs - even helping us when we needed to extend a night! You were amazing and an outstanding host that goes that extra mile or three! I would highly recommend staying at The Manse or any of any Genevieve’s other properties if your ever in the area.”
— Kylee, The Manse on Ebden, Kyneton, April 2018
“We had a lovely relaxing break at the historic Welsh Church - it is stylish and we’ll appointed, an easy wander into town and if youre feeling more energetic, a good walk up Mt Tarrengower or the Rock of ages. If that’s not your thing it’s also perfect for chilling in the sunshine with a glass wine and good book!”
— Seina, The Welsh Church, Maldon, April 2018
“We loved staying in this gorgeous cottage which turned out to be more spacious than the photos suggested. It was beautifully styled with lots of extra little touches. We loved the cosy fire, the claw foot bath and sunny dining area. Also enjoyed the local breakfast sausages, jam, bread and coffee supplied too. There was someone else staying in the studio out the back but it was positioned so that there was still some privacy for both parties. Highly recommend staying in this lovely, well located house.”
— Kirsty, Wormwood House, Kyneton, April 2018
“Awesome stay in the heart of Trentham! Place is beautiful, highly recommend!”
— Roxy, Domino House, Trentham, April 2018
“This little cottage is in the perfect location to stroll up to historic Piper Street or along the picturesque river right next door. The place had everything we needed for a short stay in gorgeous Kyneton.”
— Miyuki, Bird House, Kyneton, April 2018

“The perfect house for a weekend getaway to the countryside. It was dreamy! Everything was thought about.. gorgeous bathroom products, delicious produce in the kitchen, cosy linen in the bedrooms. The back gate opens to a laneway which will get you to the bakery and main street in 1 minute. Would definitely stay here again :)”
— Stephanie, Domino House, Trentham, March 2018
We had a lovely stay at the Farm House near Kyneton. Genevieve was very easy to communicate with. We were there when the Lost Trades Fair was on and also a couple of local fairs. There are loads of things to do in the local area and the quality of the restaurants in the area is fantastic. The supplies Genevieve provided were delicious and enabled us to have breakfast at the house rather than travelling into Kyneton. The linen and toiletries were also high quality.
— Ed, Farm House, Kyneton, March 2018
Our group of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at this idyllic property. From the quaint exterior, to the modern furnishings, all 3 bedrooms, living space, kitchen and outdoor area were big in size providing plenty of room to relax in. We especially loved the breakfast provisions and the luxurious Aspar bath products! We spent most of our time soaking up the sun in the beautifully appointed backyard space and our pup enjoyed frolicking in the enclosed garden. The house is in such an amazing location, right next to the famous Red Beard Bakery, and only a street away from the Main Street where you can find shops, cafes and an IGA. Kyneton and Daylesford are also 30-40 mins away by car, so the location couldn’t be more perfect. So much care has been taken to make sure all guests have an enjoyable stay. The next time you are looking for an ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, I wouldn’t go past this home. I certainly can’t wait to visit again!
— Suling, Domino House, Trentham, March 2018
“We stayed in this home for our wedding weekend, and it was perfect! Even better than the photos! Spotlessly clean and lots of lovely homely touches! And a great location, just a short walk to Piper Street.”
— Megan, Wormwood House, Kyneton, February 2018
The East Wing was exactly what we were looking for. Our group of 4 spent three nights here over a long weekend. The guest house was well equipped for a few nights away, with a fully equipped kitchen and lots of space indoors. We watched sunsets from the spa and made extensive use of the pool table. Wi-fi and air-conditioning were adequate. The property is peaceful and very pretty, with an olive grove and dam. It’s nice to go for a walk around the property on the morning. In the evening, you can expect the kangaroos to come day hello! Overall we were very happy with our stay.
— Timothy, The East Wing, Lauriston, January 2018
This property is stunning. Delivers on everything and more. The house itself is lovely, the interior design is gorgeous, each space/room with its own little highlights. Beds comfy and the linen divine. Attention to detail was absolutely spot on, including the selection of complementary food items. The outdoor space is great and the back gate leads you right to the door of a delicious bakery.
— Nicole, Domino House, Trentham, January 2018
“Perfect place for a getaway. The house is just so delightful. The decor, the furniture, the local produce hamper, even the Aurora products were all so special. The beds were so comfortable, we loved eating dinner outside on the decking and enjoyed some fresh herbs from the garden when we cooked on the impressive stove top. Genevieve was a great host, she was very accommodating and went out of her way to help. We really can’t wait to visit all the other Flophouse properties now. Thank you for a wonderful stay ”
— Sarah and James, Chairmaker's House, December 2017 - January 2018
What a delightful little cottage filled with treasures. We felt so comfortable and happy with all the attention to detail. So much to love. Thank you for sharing this wonderful space.
— Rose, Alice and Michelle, Shopkeeper's House, November, 2017
Hi Genevieve

I just spent a weekend in Maldon staying in the Welsh church and everything about it was just absolutely gorgeous – what a terrific weekend away.

We are going to make it our mission to stay in all your flop houses – the attention to detail on the church was incredible and all credit goes to your team and of course the owner. The little touches, the sun hat, the bread, the beautiful linens, gorgeous light and pet friendly to boot! Loved loved loved.

can’t wait to go back and experience all seasons –winter will be amazing.
— Mary, The Welsh Church, November, 2017
Dear Genevieve,
I am sure we will meet again in one of your other beautiful properties. And I will be recommending you to family , friends and my
clients !!
Thanks Again
— Paula and Rod, River House, November 2017

As we opened the door of the Welsh Church in Maldon our hearts sang, cares melted and nothing disappointed except we had only booked 3 nights and not 3 weeks. The light filled accommodation is a blend of character, comfort and even a little quirky along with its overall appeal of sophistication, clean spacious lines and thoughtful details to ensure all 4 guests enjoy every moment of their stay. Thank you Genevieve and flophouse and as we have already booked our next stay we look forward to seeing you next year. Warmest regards
— Christine & Richard, The Welsh Church, November 2017
This property is absolutely beautiful. The house is located on an olive grove, the owners of the house are very accommodating and friendly and Genevieve was very informative. Easy to find and easy check in and out process. We were 4 friends taking a weekend away from the city and this was the perfect location. Still close to Kyneton - about a 10 Mum drive. We took a nice walk around the property and enjoyed the use of the spa! Would highly recommend and will definately be back. Thanks for having us :-)
— Claire, East Wing, October, 2017
We had a great weekend at the Chairmaker’s. The house was kitted out beautifully, and the extra blankets and open fire made the winter weekender truly plush!
— Tim, Chairmaker's House, July, 2017
We had a great stay. Easy walk to Kyneton, lovely surrounds. We would definitely recommend it!
— Laura, Wormwood Studio, June, 2017
We loved staying in this beautiful farm house. Was so cosy with the fireplace. Even the bathroom was heated! Was a beautiful escape and was fun exploring the region in the day and relaxing by the fire at night. Thanks!
— Zoe and Trafford, Farm House, May, 2017
“AMAZING STAY!! Stunning house full of gorgeous furniture, art, linen. This house was thoughtfully designed and was very easy to feel at home. Close walking distance to piper st. driving distance to wineries too! Host was very nice. We arrived late Friday and was able to pick up keys from local restaurant. Kyneton is a beautiful place and you should visit Turpin Falls! ”
— Annabel, Chairmaker's House, April, 2017
Really lovely accommodation: stylish, clean and comfortable. Great location and Genevieve was a great host.
— Catriona, Bird House, April, 2017
Gorgeous studio perfect for a short stay. Beautiful bathroom products and delicious bread, butter and locally made jam left for us for breakfast. Studio has everything you need for a short stay, very comfortable and love the interiors. Great location and lovely neighbourhood.
— Emily, Wormwood Studio, March, 2017

“This was our second stay at Flop House. We love it! We will be back.”
— Ben, Harpsichord House, March, 2017
Had an amazing stay last weekend at the Shopkeepers House in Maldon, the weather was cold, wet and rainy but the house was warm and cosy around the open fire! Beautifully made linen beds, a luxurious big hot shower, and a refreshing weekend away in what seems to be a carefully orchestrated mash-up between a goldfields museum, and a lavish 5 star B&B. Woke up to the nostalgic sounds of the local steam train, had an amazing lunch at Bress, a beautiful local winery, and then folk music at the Kangaroo hotel in the evening. Perfect. Cant wait to come back!
— Rohini and Bill, Shopkeeper's House, Maldon, November, 2016
What a beautiful property- overlooking farmland, surrounded by trees and spring flowers and close to Kyneton. We had such a relaxing stay, in this well equiped and stylishly decorated accomodation. The bath house rates a special mention - complete with chandelier and fire for heating. Highly recommended if you fancy a mini break just an hour from Melbourne.
— Kerry Grenfell, Farm House, November, 2016
Hi Genevieve,
I was so revived after I got back to reality after my stay at Maldon that I forgot to write to say how much we loved it.
The little Maldon house was just gorgeous. Rupert loved the garden, we were enchanted by the walk through the park lands past the Bee Keepers chimney to get into the town. The town was super picturesque and everyone was really friendly we got great coffee (always a relief). I bought a beautiful piece of fabric from Levander and lace too and found a french Vogue in the newsagents. Very Happy Jan!
The sheets on the bed were divine. I love a brass bed so that was a nice surprise. The breakfast was delicious thank you! I felt like everything was thought of which was very comforting and relaxing. I always forget shampoo etc. and then need to wash my hair so I was very happy to find that all there and a hair dryer, brilliant!
It was a lovely experience. We can’t wait to come back!
I attached to photos from our trip.
Thank you from,
Alice and William and Rupert!
— ALice Edgeley, William Griffiths and Rupert, the Poodle, Shopkeeper's House, Maldon, October 2016
Hi Genevieve,
Truly an amazing adventure and such warm hospitality.
We fell in love.
— The Jordan's, Harpsichord House, September, 2016
“I’m a sucker for loving attention to detail.
Our stay at the Birdhouse hosted by the lovely Flophouse Crew just had it all and more and not to much of anything.
Delicious simplicity, inspiring design and quiet spaciousness.
Thanks so much for providing such an inspiring, nourishing opportunity to get away.
International design with local flavours in the country side with only friendly and uncomplicated exchanges, what more could anyone want?!”

A beautiful stay at Wormwood House. We loved the sunlit table, the open fireplace and the amazing shower. We had everything we needed and loved bring surrounded by gorgeous vintage furniture. Genevieve was an excellent and attentive host. Thank you so much.
— Jessica Little, Wormwood House, April ,2016
The Flop House was an amazing experience from from the point of booking to the very end. Genevieve was very accommodating and very responsive to all our queries and arranging the biked for us to use during our stay. The house is a perfect get away located within easy walking distance to Piper Street filled with amazing food and shops. We look forward to staying at the Flop house again!!
— Nicholas Lee, Harpsichord House, March, 2016
From the moment we met Genevieve, our lovely host, we knew we were in good hands. Genevieve proves that hospitality is an art form. After two nights in one of her Flophouses outside of Kyneton, VIC, we were revived. I can’t wait to get back there.
— Courtney Collins, River House, Easter, 2016
My partner and I had the most beautiful and relaxing weekend at Genevieves’s Scandinavian retreat! Genevieve was an amazing host and truly has an eye for providing for an amazing stay! This accommodation is everything stated.. and so much more! Having travelled through Scandinavia (and fallen in love with it) I had been looking for an escape from Melbourne day to day life, that was similar to a Danish country cabin. Not only did this beautifully styled retreat take my soul for a little trip to Denmark, it also provided many luxuries such as an amazing breakfast selection (which also served as our first nights dinner), an amazing bathroom, Aesop and Salus products, chickens, a private deck/garden where many early morning tea’s were drunk and afternoon cheese and beer in the sun. I am an early riser, so as my partner slept in (in the ever so comfortable downstairs bed) I crept upstairs to the loft bedroom with a pot of coffee and enjoyed Genevieve’s beautiful selection of books. We were also lucky to have some cooler nights were we enjoyed board games by the wood fire. The perfect place to spend the weekend (or forever!) We would recommend spending as much time at the accommodation as possible! We truly were very sad to leave, but know we will be back very soon! x
— Sarah De Lean, Harpsichord House, December, 2015
Flop House, we love you - we knew we we would! From meeting our fantastic hosts; exceptionally warm, friendly and accommodating to resting our heads in one of the most beautiful loft houses we have ever seen. Wonderful attention to detail, delightful food and a wood fire for cosy times - we had the best time. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
— Adam, Harpsichord House, November, 2015
Perfect stay at the Chair Makers House! We had a warm, lovely welcome from Genevieve and great support during our stay and beyond. We really enjoyed the time in the house as well as in Kyneton!
— Vibeke Hase, Chairmaker's House, September, 2015
We had admired Glen Rundell’s fine furniture at the Lost Trades Fair, so to stay in the The Chair Maker’s House, which he and wife Lisa, had actually renovated, was a delight. Genevieve our host had the house warm for us when we arrived - and it was cold outside - with fresh flowers, country eggs, and divine finger lime preserve for our breakfast toast. Really it could not have been better. We admired the meticulous detail in the graduated drawers made from London plane, the gouache-type colour scheme, the map with a suggested cycling route round Kyneton, and the hand turned Shaker pegs on picture rails throughout. I’d hang my hat one one of those Shaker pegs any day. A wonderful weekend! Thank you Genevieve.
— Elizabeth, Chairmaker's House, September, 2015
We were made very welcome. We loved the accommodation. Lovely renovated miners cottage. Very comfortable and cosy. Ideal location walking distance to shops and cafés. Will definitely recommend to our family and friends. Hope to stay there again.
— Michael Ryan, Chairmaker's House, September, 2015
A cosy retreat near the main street, with plenty of boutique shops and foodie cafes nearby. The dogs loved the backyard and the walk along the river.
— Marjeta, Harpsichord House, August, 2015
We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay at Worm Wood Studio. It was spotlessly clean, cosy and warm; perfect for a quiet weekend away. The basic kitchen provisions (fresh bread was delish!) and breakfast voucher were lovely added touches. We’d love to come back and stay again in the future!
— Claire Devin, Wormwood Studio, July, 2015
Warm and cosy and beds like clouds. Beautifully renovated home with a lovely warm feeling - perfect for the low key girly weekend away we planned.
— Gemma Gray, Wormwood House, July, 2015
The Wormwood studio was lovely, we really enjoyed our stay. Especially the beautiful bread, preserves and muesli! Genevieve is an excellent host who replies promptly and made picking up keys very easy.
— Sanja Shoukath, Wormwood Studio, July, 2015
We had a fantastic experience at the Flop House. It was warm and cosy even on a very chilly winter weekend, and the beds were super comfortable with lovely linen. We loved the fancy chooks and the art work (especially the painting of the cat!). The location is perfect - we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, and Genevieve was a great host and had fantastic recommendations about things to do and places to eat in Kyneton.
— Astrid Heward, Harpsichord House, July, 2015
My best friend and I had an incredible time in Kyneton and the surrounding towns, and it was all thanks to Genevieve. She was incredibly helpful and her suggestions for walks, restaurants, stores and many different experiences truly made our trip an amazing time away. The harpsichord house is beautiful, and well looked-after, with an open design and chickens in the backyard, as Genevieve and Sonny maintain breakfast provisions (a delicious supply of local foods) and assist with the fireplace. An extremely comfortable and warm stay perfect for winter. Genevieve’s sense of design resonates throughout- truly an inspiring stay, we felt the need to redecorate when we came back home. We spent much time chatting with her in her store, and her kindness and generosity were among the highlights of our time. Her extensive historic knowledge about people, places and things in her suggestions also made us appreciate the region a lot more than if we had no host-guess communication. She was honestly the perfect host. Had such a lovely stay and would recommend to everyone. Thank you Genevieve! We had such an amazing time and would love to come back again in the future.
— Kim Ngyuen, Harpsichord House, July, 2015
A wonderful little retreat in Kyneton. Genevieve was super lovely, helpful and suggestive on activities to do whilst in town. Even recommended a bar that was absolutely amazing. Thanks again
— Daniel Clerici, Chairmaker's House, May, 2015
We had a lovely, cosy stay at Flop House; beautifully clean and bright with fresh, local breakfast goods and luxurious soaps. The heater was efficient on the coldest day. A lovely selection of reading material and cosy spots for a relaxing few days away! We loved the peaceful and convenient location...and watching the chickens! Many thanks, Genevieve!
— Amy S, Harpsichord House, April, 2015
My partner and I had a lovely weekend at Chair Maker’s house. The house was spacious with a good kitchen. The furniture was really well chosen. Overall the house felt really comfortable and was close to all the shops and cafes.
— Jonathan Epstein, Chairmaker's House, April, 2015
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at the flop house. Genevieve was very welcoming and her little home was the perfect place to rest after a day of exploring. Great design, great location, beautiful gardens, sweet breakfast hamper, comfy beds, lovely host, cheeky bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge..... What more could I possibly want!!
— Jessica Colangelo, Harpsichord House, February, 2015
Genevieve was very warm and welcoming and genuinely wanted us to have a good time - which we did! The house itself is amazing. Spotless, modern, but still with a nice homely feel too. Cooked dinner and the kitchen was a breeze with great stove etc. Had a lovely time, thanks so much - we plan on being back sooner rather than later!
— Nikolai Beilharz, Chairmaker's House, February, 2015
We had a lovely stay at Genevieve’s in Kyneton. The house is a cute little studio on a residential street a short walk from Piper St where the restaurants and boutiques are located - all of which were very quiet during our mid-week visit. The studio overlooks a cottage garden with apple trees and chooks and we enjoyed eating our brunch on one of the studio’s picnic rugs using the local produce that Genevieve had provided for our stay. The high-grade bed linen was enjoyable as was the comfort of the downstairs bed. If you’re looking for a relaxing, lo-fi weekend escape an hour from Melbourne, Genevieve’s won’t disappoint.
— Sunni, Harpsichord House, January, 2015
Genevieve’s Flophouse was beautiful. It truly is a getaway! The guesthouse is wonderfully designed; Genevieve has a great eye and it is evident that she has curated and finely selected each piece. It felt more like the Scandinavian countryside than kyneton! The bed was super comfortable and the bathroom and kitchen were fully functional with all the necessities. Genevieve’s hospitality goes above and beyond all my previous airbnb experiences. Highly recommend this place and I’d definitely would like to return!
— Jeremy Leung, Harpsichord House, January, 2015
Genevieve, her husband Sonny and her two gorgeous dogs made us feel incredibly welcome and relaxed at their beautiful Kyneton retreat. Beautiful property and home, overlooking a gorgeous backyard, chook shed and vegie garden. Lovely breakfast provisions, enticing books, comfy chairs and beds meant that we barely wanted to leave.! Nevertheless.. it’s a handy short stroll round the corner to Piper St and its plethora of amazing homeware shops, cafes and galleries, with lots of longer walks and day hikes also close by. Loved every minute of our weekend away - can not wait to come back soon!
— Jacqui Duc, Harpsichord House, December, 2014
Genevieve’s retreat was absolutely perfect. We unfortunately didn’t get a chance to enjoy all it’s offerings as we were there for a wedding, however we would definitely consider a re-book in the near future. It had everything we needed and Genevieve was more then happy to help with any request we had. The breakfast which included some beautiful local produce was thoroughly enjoyed with a pot of tea in the garden. Highly recommended and have already recommended it to friends and family.
— Kris Volkanovski, Harpsichord House , March, 2014

HI Genevieve,
Truly an amazing adventure and such warm hospitality.
We fell in love.
— The Jordan's, Harpsichord House, September, 2016
“I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this property, it looked beautiful, and I felt right at home. I highly recommend it! Genevieve was a wonderful host.”
— Susan, Wormwood Studio, Easter, 2017
Genevieve’s love and passion for antique furniture, interior and impeccable design is noticeable from the moment you step into the picturesque Harpsichord house. This home has it all with its quaint fire place, beautiful linen sets, cosy leather couches and plenty of books to peruse through catapulting you into a different world away from the hustle and bustle of Melbourne. Open the fridge and you find fresh milk, artisan bread from the local bakery, smoked salmon and fresh grind coffee for you to enjoy while watching the chicken roam around in the colorful garden. As you can tell, we fell in love with this place and Kyneton. The attention to detail and the love Genevieve has put into this luxurious place will make you want to stay forever. We switched off the second we got here....and will be back very soon!
— Chloé & Stephen, Harpsichord House, Easter, 2017
