Lavandula La Primavera Swiss Italian Festival

This years La Primavera festival will be an intimate affair that continues Lavandula’s tradition of celebrating the Swiss Italian history and influence of the area.

This year highlights the region's health-giving underground mineral waters and the dedicated healing practitioners that are so important to the Hepburn Shire.

Make a date with one or more of the region's best healing practitioners who'll be available to help you relax, rejuvenate  and reinvigorate. Explore the original 1850s stone farmhouse for an in depth tour conducted by the original descendants. Take a leisurely stroll around the gardens and deeply breathe in the clean, country air and take in wide views of the grounds and beyond. It is a day for the whole family to come together and celebrate the birth of spring.

Paul Bangay's Stonefields Open Garden

Renowned landscape designer Paul Bangay is once again opening the gates to Stonefields, his spectacular 16-hectare private property near Daylesford in central Victoria, this year to raise money for the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation.

Stonefields is rarely open to the public and this event is an exclusive opportunity to go behind the scenes at one of Australia’s most celebrated gardens.

Stroll through the seven acres of spectacular gardens, and also enjoy:

  • a selection of fine food and beverages on the lawn

  • the vibrant Community Market with unique items, including some of the rare plants you can see growing at Stonefields

  • meeting Paul Bangay and Stephanie Alexander in the book-signing marquee, and browsing books and gifts

  • discovering more about pleasurable food education with the Kitchen Garden Foundation team

  • stalls selling products made by Kitchen Garden Program schools.

All proceeds from this event go towards supporting the delivery of pleasurable food education in Australian schools and centres.

Castlemaine & District Festival of Gardens

The 15th Biennial Castlemaine & District Festival of Gardens.

For just over 25 years the gardeners of Castlemaine & District have opened their front gates and welcomed visitors in to enjoy the fruits of their labours.

Every two years, in Melbourne Cup Week, around 25 selected gardens are offered for your enjoyment. As always there is a variety of gardens, from grand and historical gardens to small cottage plots and gardens which will intrigue and inspire.

This year there will be 22 Gardens of the Goldfields open.
