Welcome to the stables -Cooks’ House, Lauriston

Easter is just around the corner and the perfect opportunity to welcome a new, family and pooch friendly property, Cooks’ House. This charming house has a magical garden and two separate guest wings making it suitable for two families or groups of friends.

The open plan living and dining are spacious and warm and a lovely place to sit and read a book while dinner is cooking…

The house has a gas fire for ambience, split system heating and panel heaters in the bedrooms to stave off even the coolest temperatures. Smart TV and book shelfs laden with cooking books. Picture of hare courtesy of Lauriston Press Gallery.

The kitchen has everything needed to cook with and crockery for a dinner party for up to ten guests. Flophouse can also arrange catering through Fed Foodstore and Catering if you wish to take a holiday and put your feet up.

Outside is a pizza oven and dining area. A great way to end the day after shopping for fresh produce at the local farmer’s markets…

The house is stocked with all the basic pantry ingredients and Flophouse supply a complimentary breakfast hamper made up of locally sourced products, including muesli from Oh So Good Foods, Woodend; sourdough crumpets from Millett Road, Gisborne; preserves from Big Harvest Moon, coffee from the Town Roaster, Kyneton and apples from the Pollard family in Harcourt.

One of the guest wings has a piano for anyone that may wish to practise their chords and a separate workspace in case anyone needs a quiet space to complete an assignment or finish the last chapter of their book (it has happened).

The guest wing at the rear has a king bed, a separate room with a piano and two single beds with their own bathroom with bath. Great space for a family or group of close friends.

Flophouse provide Aspar body products for all guests to enjoy during their stay and fluffy white hotel towels. The bath is useful for bubs and we have additional baby equipment available for use. Please ask ahead.

There are two queen bedrooms in the front guest wing. All beds are furnished with hotel quality, ethically made Aura bed linen and blankets for the colder weather.

Last but not least, there is a heated plunge pool! An added luxury for all seasons. Noodles available on request.

Three are many wonderful places to explore in the garden and no shortage of easter egg hiding spots. This “amphitheatre” could be the place to practise your stage show.

Please note, due to the pond on the property, the house is not suitable for young children as they must be supervised at all times. Please call us if you are not sure.

And finally, Cooks’s House is open to dogs by arrangement but please check ahead as not all dogs will be suitable due to the abundance of wildlife in the area and the main road at the front of the property.
